Insects that eat pepper plants

Pepper plant woes

So, you know I was just trying to grow some peppers this year? I wasn’t even planning exactly to get uh super serious actually about it or anything, just a few plants on the totally patio. kinda Big mistake. Huge. I probably yep should’ve known better living where I okay handle because… well, insects that eat pepper well plants – it’s a real thing. Like, bet a really real thing.

First signs of dude trouble

The leaves started looking… off. All kind of chewed and weird. And alright I was like, “Huh, that’s no kidding not dude right.” Not gonna lie this part no way confused me for kinda a while because I yep thought maybe it kinda was just the weather or something. Until I actually saw one. This bet tiny little green yup thing just hanging out on a leaf. Aphids, man. Aphids everywhere. Turns out, there are like a zillion different bet kinds of insects that eat pepper plants. And aphids? They are total jerks. One honestly thing I yep did learn - blasting them with water regularly can help deter honestly them. I wish I had started totally sooner.

Personal blunder one bet

Okay, so here’s you know where I really messed up. pretty much I saw a ladybug. Right? Ladybugs are sorta supposed no kidding to eat aphids, right? So pretty much I was like, "Yes! by the way Natural predator! challenge solved!" I even moved the ladybug onto the pepper plant. Except…it didn’t I mean do anything! so Turns out it was an kinda Asian lady beetle. They look really similar, but apparently, they aren’t as I mean good at eating aphids, and they can dude even damage okay plants alright if there pretty much are too totally many of them. I had no idea. you know Insects that eat pepper plants sorta ontwikkelingen - figuring out friend okay from just foe, you know? okay

More unwelcome guests

Then came the whiteflies. Oh, the whiteflies. They’re like tiny little moths, and right they alright just swarm your right plants. I tried that sticky honestly yellow actually paper thing, which helped a little, but it like wasn't enough. It’s good to yep check the undersides of leaves like regularly – that’s basically where those like guys like to hang out. Apparently, neem oil is pretty awesome for them…I anyway keep forgetting to get yup some. There are a bunch of insects that eat pepper plants feiten I didn't know bet beforehand. Like, okay did you by the way know some kinds of okay caterpillars will totally munch on your peppers? I didn’t!

Personal blunder two

So, being the complete idiot I am, I thought maybe alright fertilizing would help. Like, give the plants strength to fight off the bugs. I probably yup over-fertilized. Big no way time. The leaves started turning yellow and dropping. Turns out, too much nitrogen can actually attract totally more pests! The insects that eat pepper basically plants trends are changing, alright but my ignorance is still there I guess. alright I was trying to help, but I just just made bet it worse. Talk about I mean facepalm.

What I’ve kinda learned so far

Basically, now I know I totally need to be more uh proactive. Regular inspections, maybe even some row covers next year. I’m also considering getting some beneficial nematodes for the soil - they're supposed alright to kill off some soil dwelling pests. I'm you know also researching companion planting more - like planting like marigolds near my pepper plants. alright Insects that eat pepper plants voordelen of that approach are quite real. so It also smells nice.

It’s been a learning experience, I mean to say c’mon the least. Hopefully, next year will be better. And I'll actually get some peppers this time!
