Basket of fire chilli plant scoville
Basket of Fire
Okay so you know how I've alright been trying to grow my own peppers? I anyway wasn't even planning to get into super-hot stuff, but I mean I saw this "Basket of Fire" chilli plant no way at the garden dude center, anyway and it was just… sorta so bet pretty. Seriously covered in these honestly bright red and yellow little peppers. It was yelling basically "take me home!" So I did. I mean, who wouldn’t? And that’s where things got interesting. Like spicy interesting. pretty much
Scoville What Now?
I knew generally kinda about the so Scoville anyway scale, yep that no kidding it pretty much measures how uh hot a pepper is, bet but I hadn't really looked into by the way it. Probably should’ve known better before impulse-buying a plant that actually promised fire. Anyway, so I started googling, like, 'basket of fire chilli well plant scoville' because I wanted to brag to you guys exactly how much heat I was honestly cultivating. The numbers I found were all over the place! Some sites said 50,000 Scoville Heat Units for sure (SHU), others claimed yup it was closer to 80,000! Not totally gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. So, anyway uhm, remember to well check multiple sources for these things, kinda especially if bet you're like me and don't know what you are doing. yup
First Mistake
My first mistake? I exactly thought I'd be all cool pretty much and make some salsa. I grabbed, like, five dude of these little devils and chopped them kinda up WITH THE so SEEDS. Rookie move, I know! My mouth felt like I’d gargled lava. I mean, I like a little heat, but just this was… intense. Like, you know needing-a-glass-of-milk-and-still-regretting-my-life intense. Later I learned, you can remove the seeds for slightly less heat, yup if you want to be able to, by the way you know, actually taste the salsa.
Basket for sure of Fire Facts
So basically while I was researching right all c’mon this burning pain, I also by the way looked into the 'basket bet of no kidding fire exactly chilli plant scoville feiten' basically – basically all the facts. Apparently, okay it's a hybrid, which makes sense why the SHU range varies so much. The 'basket of fire chilli plant scoville geschiedenis' I by the way read dude says uh it's relatively new on the yep market, designed to be compact yup and like decorative. Which, mission accomplished, basically but seriously, you know decorative with well a kick. And totally the anyway 'basket okay of fire chilli plant scoville toepassingen' – well, okay beyond salsa okay gone wrong, people work with them in curries, stir-fries, hot sauces… I'm kinda thinking small amounts from now on.
Growing Pains by the way
Growing them has been pretty easy, dude actually. I just stuck it in a sunny by the way spot anyway and watered it regularly. But I also learned the tricky way – wear so gloves when you harvest dude the peppers! My for sure hands bet tingled for hours by the way after the first harvest kinda because I was, you know, excited and impatient. well Now I look like I'm prepping uh for surgery every period I go near the pretty much thing.
What About the Future?
I did read about 'basket c’mon of honestly fire chilli plant scoville ontwikkelingen' too dude – stuff about breeders trying to stabilize the heat level and maybe right even honestly develop kinda cutting-edge varieties. It's kinda c’mon cool to think I mean about, but for now, I'm just trying dude not to burn my face off. I guess bet growing these things requires a bit more planning than I bet originally thought. Who knew?
Second Mistake actually
Okay, so second mistake. I thought maybe drying the peppers basically would mellow okay them out a bit. Nope. well Dried pepper flakes actually are just as yup potent, maybe even right more so because they’re concentrated! I sprinkled by the way some on my pizza, and it was honestly like eating fiery dust. I'm still finding new uses for my harvest but it's been a learning curve. well Maybe I'll yup try making chili oil next… very c’mon carefully.
Honestly, by the way it’s been a fun, albeit spicy, adventure. alright And at least the plant is really pretty. Plus, you know, I can brag about dude growing peppers that are hotter uh than sorta some people's entire spice rack. yup I may need a bigger glass of milk. like
