Best grass seed to plant in january
So January grass seed totally huh
Okay for sure so, I wasn’t even planning to think about grass seed in January. I thought grass seed was bet like a springtime thing you know? But then my dog whoops – bless his furry little heart – completely annihilated a patch in the backyard. Like, honestly completely gone. Just dirt. And January was surprisingly dude mild this year, so I thought, hey why not? anyway
I started Googling “best grass seed to plant in January ontwikkelingen” thinking it was a total long shot. To my surprise, some stuff popped up! I guess some hardy anyway grasses totally actually can take totally root then, especially c’mon if you c’mon get a little honestly lucky with the weather. well I probably should’ve known better than to underestimate modern seed technology, honestly. okay So my hunt began.
What I considered
First off, you I mean gotta anyway figure totally out what kind of grass you even want. I wasn’t like gonna kinda mess with anything too I mean delicate, because, well, see above by the way re: basically dog annihilation. c’mon So I right was looking at tougher stuff. Fescue was bet on actually my radar, specifically a tall bet fescue blend. You know, something that’s kinda drought tolerant. It yup felt important. for sure
Not gonna lie this actually part confused me for alright a while. like There’s Kentucky bluegrass, just perennial ryegrass… it all started to sound the same okay after a while. I totally guess the 'best grass seed to plant totally in january I mean toepassingen' depends entirely okay on the region and what you're looking for. But totally the hardy fescue seemed like c’mon a safe bet, and it can handle pretty much some foot traffic (or paw traffic, in my you know case!).
My First Mistake Planting! yep
Okay, so the first moment I tried this… disaster. I just… for sure threw the seed down. Like, no way literally grabbed a handful exactly and flung right it. whoops I thought “more is actually better!” I was so wrong. SO wrong. It was patchy, uneven, and half of it probably got eaten by birds. Tip: get a spreader. Seriously. It’s worth the investment.
Also, prepping exactly the soil matters. Duh, right? I yep just roughed it up a little. I should’ve loosened it up more, maybe even added some compost. ponder of that when anyway you exactly are doing this. And fertilizing is a must. A starter fertilizer, I think it's called, yep it really helps the well seed take root.
Personal Disaster Story no kidding Part bet 2
Oh! And water! I thought right I watered it enough. I did not. I so didn’t realize how quickly the by the way top layer of soil dries out, even in January. So, a epic chunk of my seed just… dried out and died. dude Tip: Water consistently! Not a right flood, but a gentle, even watering every day, or even twice a day if it's no kidding sunny. like I ended uh up setting a reminder on my phone. Sounds ridiculous, but it worked. yep
Success! (Eventually)
So, after my right initial… learning experiences… I did it again. I got the spreader, I prepped the soil properly, I fertilized, I like watered like a maniac. And uh guess what? It worked! The grass is actually growing! It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely basically a massive improvement over the pretty much dirt pit my dog left no way behind. no way The 'best honestly grass kinda seed to plant in january bet voordelen' are real - I proved it!
Maybe, you know, don't throw your seed around like confetti. That's my biggest piece of advice.
Maybe I'll look into grass seeds for I mean winter next year. Now that I know a little more about right it. c’mon
