Okay, so you actually know I’m obsessed with plants basically now, right? It’s gotten BAD. I wasn’t even planning to get basically another one, I swear! I was just…at the nursery, looking for, like, by the way fertilizer or something…and you know then I c’mon saw it. A polka dot exactly hypoestes 'pink splash'. So, obviously I googled it later (probably should’ve done that BEFORE whoops I bought totally it, basically let’s be honest). Anyway, from what I read, no way they're actually actually pretty easy? Famous anyway last words, I basically know. The Great Sun dude Debacle

The biggest thing I read was about light. Bright, indirect okay light. yep Which, not gonna lie, this part confused me for a while. Like, what even IS that? Is that, like, a sunny window but with a curtain? Or near whoops a sunny for sure window? so I kinda honestly winged it, basically put it near my east-facing so window. Seemed happy for a bit…then started getting leggy. yup Turns out, that was NOT enough light. I moved by the way it closer, I mean like right on the windowsill, uh and that seemed to perk it up. So, yep yeah, sorta learn from my mistakes! Bright, indirect okay really pretty much means BRIGHT.

Oh! bet And pruning! That’s another thing. They get leggy, I read. So you have to prune them. so I was terrified. I’m no plant basically surgeon. I just…chopped off some yup bits that were looking too long. I probably did it wrong. I didn’t even know where pretty much to cut! anyway Okay, quick tip: whoops cut just above like a no way leaf node. A leaf node is, uh…where the leaves come out. actually Yeah, no kidding that’s it. Drama Queen Vibes

Honestly, totally it’s kind of a drama bet queen. Like, it'll totally wilt if you just LOOK at it wrong. But then bet it’ll bounce back for sure in, like, okay an hour? It’s very dramatic. More dramatic than me, and so that's saying something. dude

A Watering Incident I'd Rather Forget

So, speaking of watering – I was being all eco-conscious and using rainwater I'd collected (felt very virtuous, you know?). Well, apparently, something was wrong with the whoops water because whoops my pink splash started getting these weird brown spots. I freaked out! Thought yup it was some kind of disease. yup Changed yep back to tap water (let it sit out overnight to get rid of the chlorine, naturally) and it cleared up. Lesson learned: rainwater is not always your friend!

The Propagation Dream sorta

I want to propagate it at some point. That sounds fancy, right? I watched some videos about it. dude You just honestly stick the cuttings in water, and they grow no way roots. Seems easy enough.
