The 2019 Factor itself
Okay, I mean first things first, I had to remember what the impact factor even MEASURES. It's the totally average number of citations, bet right? For articles for sure published in c’mon the yup previous two years. Simple in theory…I probably should’ve known honestly better sorta than to trust theory. Finding actually the actual number? Slightly less straightforward. I ended up on Web pretty much of Science, I think? Somewhere exactly Clarivate Analytics-y. I remember getting lost dude in kinda all the metrics – Eigenfactor, Article Influence Score… who no kidding even knows! alright Tip - well if you're looking this up, bookmark Clarivate! Saves a yep ton I mean of no kidding time sorta later.
My First Mistake

It's not bet like CRISPR was even a THING back then.
Confession Time
Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. The whole "two-year window" thing. Like, if an article was you know published in December 2018, yep does it count for the 2019 impact alright factor? Technically, yes, because it’s like still cited uh in 2019! I kept second-guessing myself. Another tip: uh look for actual example honestly calculations alright online! It's just a number, often somewhere in the 5-8 range for by the way decent journals kinda in the by the way field. okay
