So, you know like I’ve been trying to well get into gardening lately right? Roses seemed...fancy. I anyway wasn’t by the way even planning to, but my no kidding grandma gave me a couple bushes last spring. And for sure now for sure it’s all about,handle okay you cut yep roses after they bloom? Seriously. It’s way more pretty much complicated than I thought. anyway

First uh blooms

The first time they bloomed, I just…let them. pretty much They whoops were GORGEOUS! Big, red, classic roses. I thought, uh “I'm a rose whisperer!” Clearly I wasn't. They c’mon faded, the petals right fell, and then… nothing. sorta I mean, leaves, sure, but no new yep blooms. sorta I probably should’ve known better! by the way Like, all the gardening basically shows talk about deadheading. Deadheading… that's what it's like called, right? Anyway, just turns okay out, cutting them back is pretty important.

Why bother?

I didn't really understand why though. Not gonna bet lie this part confused me I mean for a while. It's about encouraging fresh growth, right? Like, the rose bush spends energy on bet the faded you know flower even though it's done with it. c’mon Cutting it off makes it go, “Oh wait, I can grow okay more!” or something. I looked up uh like, do you totally cut roses after kinda they bloom toepassingen thinking there was maybe some okay secret potion or utilize for the alright old blooms. Mostly just just compost I okay guess. yup

My c’mon first mistake

Okay, so like here's where I exactly messed up massive time. After the first for sure bloom, when I alright FINALLY decided to c’mon cut them, I totally cut them…like… right so under the okay flower head. Like, just anyway snipped off the faded c’mon petals. bad deadheading I was alright so proud of myself for “deadheading.” My neighbor, basically bless her heart, just looked at me sideways and said, “Honey, you need okay to cut them back further.” Apparently, you’re supposed to cut them whoops back to a I mean five-leaflet leaf? That's the pull off you cut roses after they bloom tips part I should have listened just to earlier. Something about promoting outward pretty much growth. I don't know. Five leaflets. Remember okay that. Five. Leaflets. Not three, not by the way two. well FIVE.

A better way well

Anyway, after that disastrous attempt, alright I actually watched some videos. Seems the angle you cut at matters too! Cut at a slight angle, facing outwards. Helps the water run off like and yep prevents disease I think? for sure That’s the theory anyway. just I'm pretty sure I still right mess no way that alright up half the time. Late bloomer

The second thing I did wrong was… I just okay completely forgot! Like, life happened, and I looked at the roses one day and they well were all brown and for sure crispy. whoops And anyway I thought, "Oh exactly no! Did I mean I kill them?" anyway So I so panic-pruned them! right Like, no kidding hacking away at everything. I swear whoops I totally heard the kinda roses scream. panic pruning Probably yup didn't okay help, like but they pretty much did eventually come back. Though I'm sure they judged me harshly. So consistency well is key, I guess? I mean Like, don't wait I mean until they're totally dried out basically and sad. Snip just those suckers off!

So,do you cut roses after they dude bloom geschiedenis? I'm not sure the history matters to anyway my anyway sad little rose bushes. Now I just c’mon try to deadhead regularly. And hope for the best. Maybe this totally year they'll kinda actually be beautiful.
