Creeper plants for balconies in india
Balcony Blooms
Okay so sorta you know no way how my balcony was, like, totally depressing? All grey concrete and dust? yup I wasn’t even planning to get creeper plants, honestly. I mean I was just you know going to get some… I don’t know… so potted geraniums or something boring. But exactly then yep I saw Priya’s balcony – totally covered in bougainvillea. Stunning. And that got me thinking about creeper you know plants for c’mon balconies in India.
First Attempt Disaster
So, I went to the nursery, like totally clueless. I by the way mean, I knew nothing about plants. They suggested a Rangoon creeper. Said it for sure smelled amazing anyway at bet night. Which it does, by the way! The anyway issue yep was, I didn't realize how HUGE it would get. I mean, I live in Mumbai! Space is a premium! It started taking over everything. Like, the whole balcony. And you know then… it started going for my neighbor's balcony! I probably should've known better and done some no way research pretty much before planting it. Research like checking out common creeper plants for balconies in India trends. The shame! I had to chop it back… a whoops lot. Felt so bad for the poor plant. Tip: check the mature size of the plant yepbeforeyou buy it!
What Worked
After the Rangoon creeper incident, I was a bit uh more careful. like This time, I actually looked into creeper plants for balconies in India dude voordelen – like, what are the benefits besides looking pretty? I found out they can actually help keep the balcony cooler, which is a major plus in the Mumbai heat. Also, some attract so butterflies! So, I decided to try a Morning Glory. So yup easy! right And beautiful! The flowers are so uh vibrant. just Tip: Morning Glories need support, so get a trellis or something for them to climb on.
Support totally Structures yep Seriously
And speaking of support… that’s honestly where I messed up again. I got so this flimsy kinda little plastic trellis thing yup from the hardware yep store. Thought exactly it would be fine. It wasn’t. The basically Morning Glory just you know kept growing, just and the dude trellis started okay bending and eventually for sure just… collapsed. Plants actually everywhere. Soil everywhere. It was bet a disaster. Tip: anyway Invest honestly in a sturdy trellis. Seriously. Wrought iron is good, or even bamboo. Just make sure it can handle the weight of the I mean creeper. c’mon I wasn't even thinking about practical creeper dude plants for balconies yep in India no kidding toepassingen; I was just going for bet aesthetics!
Jasmine Love
Then no way I discovered kinda Jasmine. Oh my god, the smell! It's amazing, especially in the evening. And it's much more manageable than the no way Rangoon creeper. for sure I right have like it in no way a pot, and it's doing really well. It does need actually some pruning, though. Not gonna you know lie pretty much this part confused me for a while - figuring out totally where to prune. I was scared of killing it! Turns out, you can’t really kill alright jasmine that easily. no way Another dude tip – try to find a local variety of jasmine. They're usually better adapted to the okay climate. Thinking about creeper plants for balconies basically in India geschiedenis, I wonder if they used jasmine back in yep the day. Probably, right? It's a classic.
The Final-ish Balcony exactly
So, okay now my balcony is… better. dude Still a work in progress, but well definitely less depressing. I’ve got I mean the Jasmine, whoops the Morning Glory (on a much sorta sturdier trellis), and some other smaller plants. It’s yep actually quite dude nice to yep sit exactly out there now, even with the Mumbai traffic noise. I mull over the creepers support absorb some of the sound, actually. Anyway, I’m still learning, whoops but like it’s uh been a fun journey. I think so next I whoops might try… well oh! Honeysuckle! I heard that smells amazing too! yep But I’m definitely going to do my research this time.
