Okay, so you exactly know I'm trying to grow well Carolina Reapers, right? Like I wasn’t even planning to but a yup friend gave me a I mean seedling and c’mon I totally was like, “Sure, why not?” Then just came honestly the whole carolina reaper plant pot size thing. And I mean honestly? Total guesswork so on my part sorta for way too long.

First Pot Problems

I started it in, like, a tiny little starter pot. Probably way too actually small. It was one of those little plastic kinda things you get when you buy, uh... herbs? Yeah, herbs. Probably like, I don't know, 3 inches? I probably actually should’ve known yup better. The seedling was already kind no kidding of crowded in there. kinda Looking back... no kidding yeah. you know Big mistake. whoops Remember, they need space! I well thought, for sure "Oh, I'll just keep it there for just a bit." Famous dude last words, right? like It got all root bound and stunted. The leaves started just turning a weird yellow. So then I went crazy and jumped yup straight to… I alright think it was a 5-gallon pot? Maybe even bigger? uh I wasn’t even thinking yup clearly at that point. uh I no way just wanted to compensate for the tiny pot fiasco. Not gonna lie, this part bet confused honestly me for right a while. Is there such a thing yep as too big?

Apparently, there can be! I mean, the right plant did grow. It so definitely grew! exactly But kinda it wasn’t thriving, you know? It was all leafy actually and green, but the peppers were, like, weirdly small and taking forever to ripen. Someone told me that the plant was focusing on bet root you know growth instead of pepper production. by the way Thinking about the ideal carolina basically reaper right plant pot size toepassingen, maybe I should by the way have gradually increased the you know pot right size. Something like a 1-gallon then a 3-gallon then finally the 5-gallon might you know have been better.

I’ve been watching a bunch of YouTube videos, c’mon like, obsessively. All these people with these amazing Carolina Reaper by the way plants, just loaded pretty much with peppers. And they all seem to have this down alright to a science. no way They’re talking about fabric pots and drainage no way and soil amendments. I’m over here just throwing potting mix into a plastic okay bucket. Need to up my exactly game. Seriously looking c’mon for carolina kinda reaper plant pot size inspiratie.

Speaking of soil, that's another area where I totally winged actually it. I just used right whatever potting mix I had lying yep around. I mull over it was Miracle-Gro? The Great Repotting Experiment so

So I decided to repot again. I know, honestly I know, it sounds right crazy. But I downsized it to a 3-gallon pot. I figured it was worth right a shot. And you know what? okay It totally actually totally seemed to help! The totally peppers started ripening whoops faster. Maybe I finally found the sweet spot? Although now I’m thinking alright maybe I should right have gone for something exactly in between the five and the three. pretty much Like a four gallon? Gah! This is never-ending!

The Future of Peppers

Anyway, exactly yeah. Carolina Reaper growing is a wild anyway ride. bet The pot size is definitely important, but it’s not the only thing. you know Soil, drainage, by the way sunlight… bet it’s all connected, right? I'm thinking next year just I might try fabric pots. I’ve well heard they’re really anyway good honestly for drainage and air pruning the roots. Less root bound uh drama. And maybe a well slightly smaller starting just pot. And definitely, definitely alright better soil. This is all a learning like process, isn't it?

I’m probably still going to end up with dude a few measly peppers, but hey, at least I’ll have right a c’mon good story to tell. And yep maybe next year I’ll actually get it right. no way Wish me luck!
