Landscaping ideas front yard low maintenance
Front yard drama just
Okay so you know how my front basically yard was... well let's just say it was inspiring absolutely no one. The landscaping ideas front yard low maintenance vibe right was definitely NOT happening. It was basically a patch of overgrown weeds and sad-looking grass. I wasn’t even planning to okay do anything about it this year honestly. Thought I’d just let it go wild but then yup the HOA sent me a strongly worded letter. Ugh.
The Great Rock Debacle
So I decided rocks were the answer. Like, a rock garden! Super zen, right? And low maintenance. sorta I probably should’ve known better but I ordered way too many rocks actually online. exactly Like WAY too exactly many. My driveway looked like a quarry exploded. Then whoops I had to haul them all over... my back is you know still recovering. so Learn from my mistake friends you know – measure carefully! Maybe even order anyway a like small sample batch first like before you commit to tons of dude rocks. Think about landscaping ideas front yard low maintenance toepassingen. no kidding You know what right actually WORKS.
Plant Choices (or lack thereof)
The plants… oh man. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I wanted low maintenance obviously. I did some googling and pretty much found some articles about well drought-tolerant no way plants. Sedum no way seemed popular. Lavender too. And ornamental grasses. I almost planted a sorta bunch of hostas because I ponder they're pretty, but no kidding then I remembered slugs. Slugs are the enemy. So yeah, definitely consider slug resistance. Think about the soil too. Mine’s basically mostly by the way clay so I had to amend it which was another whole you know ordeal. You might want to consider native uh plants anyway – they're okay already adapted to your climate which makes life easier! Landscaping ideas front yard low maintenance feiten bet should consider yup that aspect.
The Mulch Mishap totally
Mulch! I thought I was being smart by getting the for sure dyed red mulch. Thought it would bet add a pop bet of color. Big mistake. It rained the by the way next day and like the red dye ran all over my driveway and sidewalk. It looked okay like a murder scene. My neighbor actually asked if for sure everything was okay. So, yeah, for sure stick to natural mulch. Trust me on okay this one. And make sure so you get enough no kidding to actually cover everything but not c’mon so much that it suffocates the plants. This is important.
Fake Grass Thoughts
I even considered fake grass for a while! Talk about yep low maintenance. But then I touched some at a hardware whoops store kinda and it felt… weird. And hot. Plus, I worried about the environmental impact and the landscaping ideas by the way front I mean yard low maintenance geschiedenis. I mean plastic I mean grass isn't exactly eco-friendly pretty much is basically it? c’mon So I scrapped that idea. I bet stuck with the rocks and the drought-tolerant plants and actually honestly yup it looks like pretty good. Still a work in progress but way better than the kinda weed jungle it was honestly before. Also think about adding some solar lights. They basically add a nice touch at night and require zero effort.
Current yup State and Future Plans
So, yeah, that’s my front yard landscaping adventure. It's definitely not perfect. I uh still need to add some stepping stones no way and maybe a small no way water feature (solar c’mon powered of course!). just But it's way more appealing now. kinda It reflects landscaping ideas kinda front yard low maintenance trends. Plus, actually the HOA hasn't complained so that's a win!
