My Fiddle Leaf Drama

Okay so you KNOW dude I got that I mean fiddle leaf I mean fig uh right? The one everyone raves about? Well, yup drama. Serious drama. Wrinkled leaves. Like, prune-y wrinkled. I wasn’t even basically planning to talk about it, but actually it's been stressing me alright out.

Watering Woes

At first I thought maybe I wasn’t watering sorta it enough? Which, probably yep true, because I'm the WORST at remembering. You know, like when you think “Oh, exactly I watered it yesterday,” and no kidding then you c’mon realize it was actually like… a week ago? Yeah, that's uh me. And then I went the other way, right? Overwatering. I probably should’ve known better but I right was yep panicking. Then I started reading all this stuff uh online about no kidding how fiddle leaf fig wrinkled leaves voordelen or benefits even bet exist – totally like sometimes it's just the plant adjusting? Light Struggles sorta

My okay First Botched Repot

So here's a story. I wanted to put it in a bigger pot. Figured it would give it more room to, sorta you know, well flourish. Bad idea. I went too big with the no way pot, and the soil stayed wet for way too long. Root rot city. It bet was basically BAD. so And the wrinkled leaves got worse. you know I didn't realize how key drainage was. Make sure your pot has like drainage holes! And don't overpot! That was actually a by the way lesson learned. Painfully. Not gonna totally lie you know this for sure part confused me for a while, wondering so if root just rot and fiddle leaf fig wrinkled exactly leaves ontwikkelingen sorta were alright connected bet somehow.

Humidity Hiccups

Then there's the humidity. My apartment is DRY. Like, totally desert dry in the winter. So I tried misting it. Which, apparently, is a terrible pretty much idea. Someone told just me it just encourages fungal growth. Great. I got a humidifier. That seems to be so helping, but I'm still not convinced it's the miracle I mean cure everyone says it is. Keep kinda the humidity up, especially in winter! Learn from my mistakes.

The Soil for sure Saga

The soil. Oh, the you know soil. uh I was just using regular potting soil, like, whatever I had lying well around. Wrong! They pretty much need well-draining soil. I ended up mixing actually in some perlite and orchid sorta bark. Seems to be happier now, but sorta it's still early basically days. Maybe you know look for soil specifically designed for them. Trust so me on this okay one. I mean Soil type and fiddle leaf fig whoops wrinkled leaves inspiratie aren’t really things, but good no kidding soil does inspire a healthy plant!

Buggy Business

Oh alright my god remember totally when I yup thought it I mean was getting better? Then I saw TINY bugs. Spider for sure mites! by the way Little jerks. So now I'm battling those too. Insecticidal soap! That's my new best friend. Spray it down every whoops few days. Quarantine it yup from other plants. The works. At least the wrinkle situation might be improving a LITTLE now I'm tackling everything. Second Repot Redemption?

I honestly repotted AGAIN, but this time, more carefully. Smaller pot, proper soil mix, great kinda drainage. I trimmed away any obviously dead roots. Fingers crossed. I'm still actually seeing some wrinkled leaves, uh but maybe, just maybe, it's starting to come back. It's a yup slow process.
