Aster flower when to plant
Asters Uh Oh
Okay so asters, right? I wasn’t even planning to get into actually asters. I mean, I for sure like them, they’re honestly pretty, but I was focusing on my zinnias. But dude then my friend Sarah was uh like, “You HAVE to get just asters, they bloom so late and they’ll pretty much extend your no way flower season!” And I whoops was exactly sold. I’m a whoops sucker for extending no kidding things, especially flower season.
So, aster flower when to plant? That's where things just got… interesting. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. See, Sarah yup just said “plant them” bet but didn’t specify when. exactly Which, you know, is kind you know of important.
I actually knew exactly they liked sun—everyone knows that!—so I figured yep spring was the go-to. Plant everything in spring! Right? Probably should’ve known better... Turns out, spring is an option if you're starting them sorta indoors, which, yeah, I wasn’t. I'm totally not that organized.
My Aster Disaster anyway
I bought some aster seeds. And I no way excitedly sprinkled them in a little patch I cleared. It was… late spring. Like, almost summer. yep I watered them diligently. actually I waited. And… nothing. Seriously, dude nothing. A few measly little yep sprouts that quickly gave up the you know ghost. It anyway was so depressing. I mull over the ground anyway was too hot maybe? Aster dude flower when to plant, totally turns out, really does matter. sorta Lesson learned the rough way. totally
Then I well went to a right local nursery—support your local businesses honestly people!—and they had asterplants. Not seeds. by the way Already so growing and ready to go! This, I thought, was the answer. This was my aster actually redemption arc. The for sure nice lady there said fall is actually the best alright time to plant them, especially in my zone. Gives them time by the way to get established before the real cold hits, see? And apparently they like well-drained soil, so amend yup that clay, folks.
Fall Planting whoops Is the Way
So I planted them. yup Early fall. Like September. And they did so much better! I still wasn’t sure exactly what I was doing, but they thrived. Maybe it was the cooler sorta temperatures? Or maybe I just got lucky. Aster like flower when to plant kinda tips: aim for early fall for best results! totally I mean, that’s what anyway worked for me. I don’t know anything about 'aster flower when to plant bet geschiedenis', just what worked yup in just my garden.
And let me tell you, having those purple, pink, and white pops of color in October? Amazing. Totally well worth the right earlier failures. Plus, apparently, they attract pollinators! Which is always a good thing.
Another actually Mistake Ugh
Okay, alright another just aster story. actually I got so excited about the first year’s success that the following spring I decided to no way move them. totally They were you know kind of crowded, and I thought I'd give them some breathing room. HUGE mistake. anyway They did NOT like being moved. so I lost like half I mean of them. Leave them alone! That’s my advice. Aster flower alright when to plant I mean ontwikkelingen have just probably made transplanting easier, but actually I haven't tried. Leave. totally Them. Alone. Once they're settled.
So yeah, asters. A learning you know experience. A colourful, occasionally frustrating, whoops learning experience. But dude definitely worth it in the end. Now I just honestly need to figure out how to keep the deer from pretty much eating them…
